How it works
One day, a whole neighbourhood singing together
Neighbours open their porches
Residents of Verdun and Nuns’ Island offer their porch, balcony, or garden as a small stage for the day.
Local artists perform
Folk, jazz, rock, soul, electro… More than 100 artists perform outdoors, for free, all day long.
Everyone walks around
With the festival map in hand, festivalgoers wander from porch to porch. No tickets, no barriers — just music between neighbours.

A word from the founder
Hi! My name is Sean, and I’m the organizer of Porchfest Verdun.
The very first Porchfest was launched in Ithaca, New York, in 2007, bringing local musicians and neighbours together around music and a shared sense of community. Since then, Porchfests have spread to hundreds of cities around the world — and now it’s our turn here in Verdun.
I’m not a musician — and believe me, I’ve tried, but I’ll never be able to play guitar. But the people I see every day in my neighbourhood mean a lot to me…
